Job Description

Deliver and operate enterprise data platform capabilities

  • The candidate must be responsible for the execution, delivery, and operation of enterprise data platforms such as data lakes, warehouses, ingestion, and transformation systems.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring platform reliability, scalability, performance, and security in alignment with enterprise standards and SLAs.
  • The candidate must lead the adoption of self-service data capabilities to empower internal data consumers.

Enable data integration and accessibility

  • The candidate will lead the development of robust data integration capabilities, including batch and real-time pipelines (ETL/ELT, streaming, APIs, CDC).
  • The candidate will provide standardized, reusable frameworks to simplify data ingestion, processing, and access across the organization.
  • The candidate will enable timely and high-quality data delivery for business-critical use cases, ensuring teams can discover, aggregate, and consume data for analytics and AI use cases.

Drive data governance, quality, and compliance

  • The candidate must collaborate with governance and security stakeholders to ensure compliance with enterprise data policies and standards.
  • The candidate will be responsible for embedding data quality, lineage, and observability practices within platform capabilities.
  • The candidate will be responsible for promoting trusted, well-governed data assets across the organization.

Optimize platform engineering practices

  • The candidate will be responsible for leading the adoption of modern data engineering tools, technologies, and best practices, including cloud-native architectures and distributed processing frameworks.
  • The candidate will be responsible for improving operational efficiency through automation, monitoring, and optimization of platform services and data operations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for continuously enhancing developer experience and platform usability for engineering teams, including the use of AI across the software development lifecycle.

Manage operational execution and delivery

  • The candidate will be responsible for translating sub-functional strategy into actionable roadmaps and execution plans.
  • The candidate must meet established objectives for quality, timeliness, and platform performance.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing budgets, resources, and priorities to ensure efficient and effective delivery.

Partner cross-functionally to support business outcomes

  • The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with data product, analytics, AI, and business stakeholders to align platform capabilities with evolving needs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting delivery teams with scalable and secure data access patterns and tooling.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring platform readiness to support new use cases and growing data volumes.

Lead and develop team members

  • The candidate will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing data platform engineering organization.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring strong hiring, onboarding, development, and succession planning practices aligned with the company’s diversity and inclusion commitments.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate will be required to hold a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A Master’s degree is considered beneficial for this role.
  • The candidate must have 8–10+ years of experience engineering data platforms and services in large-scale or complex environments.
  • The candidate must have 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams with a focus on data engineering and data platforms.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong expertise in data engineering, cloud data platforms, enterprise data architecture, and distributed data processing technologies.
  • The candidate must have experience building and operating enterprise-grade data infrastructure, including data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage operational execution while supporting broader strategic objectives.
  • The candidate must have strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
  • The candidate must have experience working within established data strategies and governance frameworks.
  • The candidate must acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for their actions and decisions.
