Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for using a design-led approach to identify guest needs, define the problems they experience, and develop clear design challenges.
  • The candidate will be responsible for leading multiple complex projects while managing concept direction from early exploration through prototyping, validation, and commercialization.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing new product opportunities by connecting insights, form, function, and material expression to support the innovation pipeline.
  • The candidate will be responsible for defining and maintaining the design vision across projects while balancing performance, function, and aesthetic to create resolved, compelling product concepts.
  • The candidate will be responsible for researching and applying new materials, technologies, and methods of make as inputs to the design process while translating exploration into product concepts grounded in guest need and design intent.
  • The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Research, Raw Materials Innovation, and vendors to develop design concepts into viable products through making, experimentation, and iteration.
  • The candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a team of designers while supporting concept creation and promoting a design-led approach to problem solving and product innovation.
  • The candidate will be responsible for building, testing, and refining prototypes with the team while using design judgment to support decision-making and move concepts to in-market products.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have formal training in Industrial Design, Apparel / Sport Product Design, or a related field, with a strong foundation in concept creation in apparel.
  • The candidate must have experience leading, developing, and mentoring designers while elevating craft, concept thinking, and a design-led approach to problem solving.
  • The candidate must have proven ability to design and build compelling product concepts or cohesive systems of solutions that solve clearly defined guest problems and translate into viable product opportunities.
  • The candidate must have deep expertise in garment construction, materials, and methods of make, and apply this knowledge through a design lens to develop innovative product concepts.
  • The candidate must have a strong point of view on design and the ability to connect function, performance, and aesthetic into clear product direction.
  • The candidate must demonstrate exceptional ability to communicate design intent and vision through sketching, storytelling, and technical artefacts to enable teams to translate concepts into prototypes and product stories.
  • The candidate must have experience leading concepts from early exploration through prototyping and iteration toward commercialized products.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to navigate ambiguity while managing multiple projects and time horizons and maintaining clear design direction and output.
  • The candidate must acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for their actions and decisions.
  • The candidate must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously seek innovative ways to achieve strong results.
