Job Description
- The candidate must provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of compliance and regulatory matters while operating with a high degree of independence and contributing to the enterprise compliance program.
- The candidate will be responsible for delivering strategic legal guidance across product compliance, trade compliance, sustainability, sanctions, and responsible supply chain risk areas.
- The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Product Integrity, Sustainability, Trade, and key stakeholders to identify and reduce legal and enterprise risks.
- The candidate will support and advance the global Compliance Program through policy management, training, and third-party risk initiatives.
- The candidate will monitor and report on emerging legislation, regulatory developments, and litigation that may impact the business.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and education to cross-functional teams on changing compliance requirements and risk management approaches.
- The candidate will be responsible for overseeing outside legal counsel and external advisors on complex compliance and trade issues.
- The candidate will be responsible for delivering updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on critical legal and compliance risks.
- The candidate will be responsible for mentoring team members, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring team members remain accountable for their results.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have a JD or equivalent degree from an accredited university, with active bar admission or the ability to register as in-house counsel.
- The candidate must have 5+ years of relevant legal experience gained in-house or at a law firm.
- The candidate must have deep expertise in compliance, regulatory, and trade-related legal matters.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong business judgment and the ability to manage complex legal risks.
- The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear business guidance.
- The candidate must be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration and influencing skills across cross-functional teams.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills and effective team management capabilities.
