Onsite Medical Representative

The Workplace Health & Safety Team at Amazon is responsible for ensuring employee safety, health, and wellness at all locations within our network. In addition, we provide support to all employees working at Amazon for their day-to-day operations related to Workplace Safety.

Job Description

  • Medical support role working directly with employees.
  • Located in the Facility as part of Amazon’s Workplace Health and Safety Team.
  • This is a full time, on site role with flexible schedules that can include nights and weekends.
  • You will provide First Aid, Wellness Guidance and Emergency Response services.
  • You will work closely with Safety, Wellness and Leadership Teams.
  • This position emphasizes a proactive customer service approach with regards to health and safety education; an emphasis on Injury Prevention through Education.

Responsibilities

  • The company will provide initial medical assistance to an Employee on site and, when warranted, refer the Employee to an outside medical facility for follow-up care.
  • The Company will provide training and a proactive approach for Employees to understand the significance of injury prevention.
  • Complete and accurate records of all incidents and medical incidents must be maintained.
  • Work to minimize AA injuries.
  • Maintain daily logs.
  • The Company will assist with the development and implementation of return-to-work and workers’ compensation programs.
  • Maintenance of first aid records. CPR, AED as well.
  • Participate in CPR & AED certification programs.
  • The Company will assist with on site safety operations and respond to medical emergencies when necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum level of education should be a High School diploma, or the equivalent, and
  • One of the following pathways leading to qualifications must be fulfilled:

β€’ Option 1: Advanced Care Paramedic Legal proof of advanced care paramedic training under regulation of paramedics profession (AR 151/2016).

  • Legal proof of standard first aid with CPR/AED (level A or C) training from a certifying authority in Canada accredited in AB.

Option 2: Registered Nurse
Registered Nurse who is in good standing with College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) which was established through the Health Professions Act.

β€’ Legal proof of standard first aid with CPR/AED (level A or C) training from a certifying authority in Canada accredited in AB.

  • Standard First Aid Certificate and current (A or C) CPR/AED Certification.
  • Ability to complete Alberta OHS Advanced First Aider Certificate within 3 weeks.
  • Can maintain records digitally and use Microsoft Office.
  • Worked with OSHA regulations.
  • Can manage musculoskeletal disorders and other body mechanics
