Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for setting up the voting place and its stations, including voting booths, signs, and notices.
- The candidate will use a scanner and laptop to verify voter names, update existing registrations, register new voters, and verify identification.
- The candidate will explain the voting process to voters and issue ballots.
- The candidate will assist voters as required throughout the voting process.
- The candidate will assist with packing equipment and supplies and closing the voting place at the end of the day.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
- The candidate must be legally entitled to work in British Columbia.
- The candidate must provide their own transportation to and from their assigned voting location.
- The candidate will be required to attend a mandatory training session.
- The candidate must not be related to any candidate running for office in the municipal election.
- The candidate must not be actively working for any election campaign or candidate.
- The candidate must be comfortable using a laptop and online software, including VoterView.
- The candidate must be able to work extended hours on General Voting Day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
