Job Description

  • The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
  • The candidate must install underground wiring and cables.
  • The candidate will be expected to install, replace, and repair electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate must keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • The candidate must design and build single-phase services for single or multimeter installations.
  • The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.
  • The candidate must design and build low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase services for single or multimeter installations.
  • The candidate will be expected to test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults, and circuit integrity.
  • The candidate will be expected to select appropriate materials and methods for hazardous locations.
  • The candidate will be expected to troubleshoot and isolate faults.
  • The candidate must connect power to audio and visual equipment.
  • The candidate must install surface mount and/or overhead cables.
  • The candidate will be expected to train apprentices.
  • The candidate must install power generation, backup power generation, and power conditioning systems.
  • The candidate must ground and bond electrical equipment, systems, and structures such as swimming pools and hot tubs.
  • The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate must renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings.
  • The candidate must carry out preventive maintenance programmes.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Construction Electrician Red Seal Certificate.

Work setting

  • The candidate will be expected to work in the construction, commercial, and residential industries.
  • Work settings will include repair and maintenance.
