Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for providing crisis intervention services and follow-up emotional support to victims and witnesses of crime and trauma.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing information to victims and witnesses regarding victim rights, the criminal justice system, community programs, available resources, and referrals.
- The candidate will be responsible for conducting court orientations and providing court accompaniment services to victims and witnesses.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have completed Grade 12, preferably supplemented by courses in social science, along with considerable related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous police-based, community-based, or court-based Victim Services experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a diploma or degree in a field of social sciences.
- The successful candidate must have considerable knowledge of the rules and regulations governing program activities, as well as the practices and techniques of trauma-informed crisis intervention and follow-up support related to the position.

- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Enhanced Reliability Status as a condition of employment in accordance with the Government of Canada’s Directive on Security Screening.
- The candidate must provide a complete and verifiable five-year history, including residences, employment, education, and other activities, with no unexplained gaps.
- The candidate must disclose any period of six consecutive months or more spent outside Canada, which may require additional verification.
- The candidate must complete required screening processes, which may include identity verification, criminal record checks, reference checks, credit checks, and other background inquiries relevant to the position.
Work conditions
- The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods, walk on uneven terrain, and climb stairs depending on the type of crisis call out.
