Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree or higher in biological sciences or equivalent plus 3 or more years of related experience. 
  • They must attain an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered. 
  • Candidates must attain registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Registered Professional Biologist in BC with the College of Applied Biologists. 
  • Candidates must be immediately eligible for registration as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the CAB within 6 months of employment.
  • They must attain dedicated experience interpreting and applying environmental management legislation and policy.
  • Candidates must have experience leading, coaching, mentoring or managing technical or professional teams in a resource management context. 
  • Candidates must attain demonstrated experience supervising staff tasked with managing wildlife or wildlife habitat resources.
  • They must acquire experience leading and monitoring projects specific to wildlife and/or terrestrial ecosystem management. 
  • Candidates must have dedicated experience negotiating agreements with other levels of government or First Nations.
  • Candidates must have dedicated experience collaborating and working with First Nations on wildlife management.
  • They must have comprehensive experience in regulatory management in the natural resource field.
  • Candidates must attain dedicated experience managing technical or professional staff in resource management or infrastructure development.

Work setting 

  • Candidates must have dedicated experience engaging in public consultation processes dealing with natural resource management.
