Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to participate in and support Forest Landscape Planning along with providing specialist services to review Forest Operation Plans and support monitoring programs to implement Forest Landscape Plans.
  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to work in diverse teams, maintain accurate project tracking and documentation, plan and coordinate contracts, oversee complex projects, and review. 
  • They’re also appointed to provide higher-level support on prescriptions and engage directly with a wide variety of stakeholders to support resource management decisions and resolve complex stewardship issues. 

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain a dedicated degree in the natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) or an equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by Forest Professionals BC.
  • They must be registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed Registered Professional Forester with Forest Professionals BC.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a natural resource discipline including:
  • They must attain experience managing multiple projects or leading a major component of a project.
  • Candidates must attain dedicated experience managing relationships with senior-level stakeholders, leading consultation sessions, and public engagement sessions.
  • Candidates must have experience supervising staff, and Training in project management to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must have experience in project management and stakeholder engagement best practices and 2 or more years of experience in contract management and administration. 
  • They must have Financial management “budgeting or tracking” experience.
  • Candidates must have a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent to be eligible for this post.

Work setting 

  • Candidates must have experience in harvesting field practices and project development including site plan creation or integrated resource management.
