Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • The candidate will be required to operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
  • The candidate will be required to fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
  • The candidate would be responsible for operating oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
  • The candidate will be required to operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • The candidate would be responsible for operating hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • The candidate would be responsible for calculating the dimensions of metal parts to be welded
  • The candidate would be responsible for monitoring the welding process through and through, to avoid overheating
  • The candidate would be expected to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • The candidate will be required to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • The candidate will be required to follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency
  • The candidate will be required to align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • The candidate will be required to report damages on machines and equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • The candidate will be required to follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
  • The candidate would be responsible for monitoring machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
  • The candidate would be responsible for checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Previous experience is not mandatory
  • The candidate must have Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification and Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate.
  • The candidate should have excellent knowledge in repairing welding machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate should have excellent knowledge in Custom fabrication and Structural construction
  • The candidate should be required to weld Pressure Vessels.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • The candidate should have good knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • The candidate must wear steel-toed safety boots during work
  • The candidate should have good verbal and written communication skills
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should be physically fit.
  • The candidate should be punctual.
  • The candidate should be accountable.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should have ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • The candidate should have a thorough Criminal record check.
