Job Description
- The Support Safety Advocate position is one that endorses the healthy, safe and physiological working environment and employees’ safe practices through its main function.
- The position is a practical one that requires the employee to be on-site at an Amazon facility.
- Coordinating with workplace safety codes and guidelines, this position also takes care of supporting Amazon’s safety culture overall.
- The individual will be cooperating with the management team of Amazon and also the frontline workers of the company.
- Working hours will be flexible and may include weekends and night shifts.
- It is a full-time position consisting of about 40 hours a week.
Responsibilities
- Be the point of contact for site safety programs and initiatives.
- Assess work hazards and equipment risks.
- Advise on safety measures and improve ergonomics.
- Present safety training and tutor employees on safe practices.
- Lend support to corporate programs and legal compliance.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a health and safety related position.
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- Knowledge of OH & S laws in the Canadian provinces .
- Previous job experience with Microsoft Word.
- Ability to deal with delicate and secret matters at the workplace .
- Open to different shifts including nights and weekends and being flexible
