Job Description

The candidate must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages.
The candidate must address customers’ complaints or concerns.
The candidate must prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables.
The candidate must present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques, or room billings.
The candidate must describe menu items, including daily specials, to customers.
The candidate must enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations.
The candidate must advise customers on menu selections.
The candidate must balance cash and record sales.
The candidate must clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
The candidate must describe and advise on wine selection.
The candidate must greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
The candidate must order and maintain inventory of wines and wine glassware.
The candidate must serve food and beverages.
The candidate must take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
The candidate must train staff to ensure proficiency in their roles.

The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.

The candidate must hold a ProServe Program Certification.
