City of Coquitlam is located at City Hall. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Accounting Clerk 2. We are seeking a self-disciplined individual with exceptional interpersonal skills. The chosen applicant will be required to join and begin their duties as soon as possible. This is a temporary full-time position with a term of up to 18 months.

Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for processing all DCC/ACC charges calculated by the City, including managing associated securities for future installments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for processing non-DCC/ACC securities releases, including letters of credit and surety bonds.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting complex accounts payable procedures and completing related financial tasks.
  • The candidate will be responsible for completing monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial records remain accurate and up to date.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and assisting with the development and implementation of new or revised processes and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have completed Grade 12 and successfully completed at least two years of post-secondary education in a recognized accounting program.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of three years of related work experience in a professional setting.
  • The candidate with public sector experience will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate will be considered if they possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
  • The candidate with experience in a municipal finance setting will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in an environment with competing priorities while maintaining strong organizational and time management skills.
