Job Description

The candidate must calculate fixed assets and depreciation accurately.
The candidate must plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The candidate must load and unload goods.
The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
The candidate must oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
The candidate must pay and receive payments for goods.
The candidate must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs.
The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.
The candidate must transport and handle dangerous goods.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
A candidate with experience is an asset.
The candidate must hold an AZ class license and an Air Brakes Endorsement.
The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).

Type of trucking and equipment

The candidate must have experience in operating tractor-trailers.

Transportation/travel experience

The candidate must have transportation and travel experience at the local, national, provincial/territorial, and regional levels.
The candidate must have long-haul and short-haul travel experience.

The candidate must have a valid passport.
The candidate must meet security and safety requirements, including a basic security clearance, criminal record check, driver’s validity licence check, driving record check (abstract), drug test and medical exam.
