Job Description
- The candidate will perform the duties of the Asset Information System Analyst 1, including preparing training materials and delivering training to end-users, mentoring team members, analyzing business requirements, preparing reports, evaluating results, recommending improvements, coordinating with first- and third-tier service providers such as Fujitsu to resolve end-user issues, preparing end-user communications, conducting complex application testing and fault analysis, implementing complex system administration activities under the supervision of the System Administrator using a high security clearance, managing departmental records and documentation, overseeing complex business reporting using advanced reporting applications, coordinating the publishing of information to the intranet, SharePoint, and databases, and ensuring applications, data, and processes comply with requirements such as NERC, CIP, and PCBs.
- The candidate will serve as the technical owner for Stations/Lines work management data, including project costs, estimated costs, hours, and asset management data such as equipment records and equipment failure records. The candidate will research data sources, assess data quality and accuracy, investigate the root cause of errors or anomalies, update data sources, advise IT on the correct data fields, ensure reports extract accurate and valid data, develop work processes and business rules for service providers and internal users, and prepare and maintain training materials and helpdesk manuals.
- The candidate will be responsible for coordinating maintenance policies and standards within the asset information system by implementing, updating, and revising maintenance programs and instructions for all Stations/Lines equipment while coordinating the policy and standard structure.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring applications meet business process, compliance, functional, and technical requirements by identifying and resolving business issues, recommending solutions to management when necessary, and collaborating with business offices and staff to review recommendations and implement effective business system solutions.
- The candidate will be responsible for acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the development and implementation of new or revised business information system applications. The candidate may serve as a task manager or project team member, coordinate application enhancements and changes, ensure second-tier application support personnel deliver solutions that satisfy agreed-upon business requirements, and represent Stations/Lines throughout the project to ensure business needs are achieved.
- The candidate will assist in the development and implementation of pilot and new computer systems for a variety of Asset Management Services applications by liaising with internal departments and external consultants, controlling project schedules, analyzing and controlling project costs, resolving conflicts, approving work estimates within assigned limits, researching and documenting user requirements, developing alternative solutions, recommending the best approach, preparing or collecting solution estimates, assisting with business case preparation, coordinating with system developers and users, testing new systems before implementation, and supporting system rollouts.
- The candidate will provide technical advice and guidance to Asset Information System Analyst 1 employees, specialists temporarily assigned to projects, and lower-level support staff.
- The candidate will be responsible for carrying out duties of a minor nature related to the above responsibilities that do not affect the rating of the job.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a Diploma of Technology in Computer Systems from an Institute of Technology and have either four (4) years of experience as an Asset Information System Analyst 1 or four (4) years of experience analyzing large and complex datasets.
- The candidate must have six (6) years of equivalent work experience, including experience working with asset information and work management systems, budgeting, processes, and reporting systems, as well as providing front-line support, user training, and participating in system development projects. Of the required six (6) years of experience, at least three (3) years must include working with work management systems.
- The candidate must perform high-volume data entry and process maintenance programs across multiple systems and applications in support of Asset Management stakeholders.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete detailed, repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, as accurate data entry and validation directly impact operational performance.
- The candidate should have experience using SAP (GUI and FIORI), particularly for data entry, data updates, and system navigation, which is considered a strong asset.

- The candidate will be required to work in the office a minimum of two (2) days per week.
- The candidate may be required to travel occasionally throughout the province, including overnight stays of up to one week.
