Gemtron Canada Corporation, situated in Midland, ON L4R 4L3, is seeking applications for the job position of Shipping and Receiving Clerk who is enthusiastic and possesses excellent interpersonal skills. Job Description

  • The candidate must prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assembling containers and crates.
  • The candidate must inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documentation.
  • The candidate must maintain an internal record-keeping system.
  • The candidate must record shortages and reject damaged goods.
  • The candidate will be responsible for routing goods to the appropriate storage areas.
  • The candidate will be responsible for packaging goods for shipment.
  • The candidate must unpack the received goods.
  • The candidate will be responsible for attaching identifying information and shipping instructions to shipments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the loading and unloading of goods.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Counterbalanced forklift training certification and Forklift Operator certification.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their initiative.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in an industrial facility or any establishment engaged in manufacturing or processing, including, but not limited to, factories, foundries, mills, processing plants, refineries, mines and slaughterhouses.
  • The candidate should work in a warehouse, which can be a noisy, busy place to work, with hundreds of warehouse operatives, pickers, and packers, working alongside many forklift truck drivers who are moving pallets between shelves.
  • The candidate should work in the manufacturing sector, creating new products from raw materials or assembling various components using physical, chemical, or mechanical methods.

Experience and specialization

Computer and technology knowledge

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about Inventory control software, Spreadsheets, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Windows.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience in operating dollies and hand trucks, industrial lift trucks and forklifts, and pallet lifters.

Specialization or experience

  • The candidate must specialize in the green economy sector.
