Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of janitorial and routine maintenance duties related to swimming pools, aquatic buildings, and equipment.
- The candidate will be responsible for carrying out pool filtration and vacuuming duties as required.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have considerable knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in janitorial and custodial work.
- The candidate must have considerable knowledge of the operating principles and procedures of water heating, boiling, filtration, and chlorination equipment, as well as the methods, practices, and materials used in operating indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
- The candidate must have working knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems applicable to the operation of swimming pools and other park facilities.
- The candidate must have working knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in building maintenance work and the ability to operate, maintain, and complete minor repairs to equipment used in indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
- The candidate must have the ability to prepare and maintain records related to assigned work.
- The candidate must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patrons, and user groups.
- The candidate must have skill in the use and care of a variety of tools and equipment used in the work.
- The candidate must have Grade 10 education supplemented by related janitorial and technical training.
- The candidate must have sound experience operating and maintaining water heating, filtration, pumps, boilers, and chlorination equipment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess Grade 10 education supplemented by related janitorial and technical training.
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience operating and maintaining water heating, filtration, pumps, boilers, and chlorination equipment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess a valid Driverโs Licence for the Province of BC.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to work weekends and graveyard (overnight) shifts.
