Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Raw Materials Developers and Senior Developers, while setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and improving both technical and professional capabilities across the team.
  • The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and commercialization of fabrics across multiple categories and business units, ensuring delivery against technical, quality, sustainability, and aesthetic standards.
  • The candidate will be responsible for partnering with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, and other cross-functional teams to align raw material strategies with product creation priorities and go-to-market timelines.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing team capacity and workflow across seasonal development calendars while proactively identifying and mitigating risks to milestone delivery.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and deepening relationships with key mill and supplier partners, while monitoring capabilities, performance, and innovation pipelines to support sourcing and development decisions.
  • The candidate will be responsible for championing sustainability integration within the team by embedding preferred, circular, and low-impact materials into seasonal and long-range strategies.
  • The candidate will be responsible for serving as a technical escalation point for complex development challenges and guiding teams through root cause analysis and solution development.
  • The candidate will be responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement of raw material processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and output quality.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts in partnership with People & Culture to build a high-performing raw materials team.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must hold a university or college degree in Textile Science, Material Science, or a related field, or have equivalent industry experience that will be considered.
  • The candidate must possess 8–10+ years of textile industry experience, including fabric development, manufacturing, or technical design, with demonstrated progressive responsibility.
  • The candidate must possess at least 5+ years of people management or formal team leadership experience, with a proven ability to develop talent and drive team performance.
  • The candidate must demonstrate deep technical knowledge of textile manufacturing processes, including fiber, yarn, fabric construction, dyeing, finishing, and printing.
  • The candidate must demonstrate proven experience working directly with global mill and supplier partners, including travel to manufacturing regions.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong understanding of sustainable and circular materials, including certifications, traceability, and environmental impact considerations.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage complex development calendars across multiple workstreams while balancing competing priorities and dependencies.
  • The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills within a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • The candidate must demonstrate familiarity with digital tools and platforms used for material development, tracking, and data management.
  • The candidate must acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for their actions and decisions.
  • The candidate must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously seek innovative ways to achieve strong results.
