Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for leading the design of assigned categories, creating refined performance products that integrate performance thinking into everyday wear to deliver elevated essentials, refined separates, and modern wardrobe foundations with a sophisticated, fashion-forward sensibility.
- The candidate must design modern silhouettes that balance movement, comfort, and contemporary style.
- The candidate will translate creative vision into precise sketches, CADs, and technical packages, clearly communicating construction, drape, proportion, and trims.
- The candidate will be responsible for driving fit, fabric, and finish conversations in close partnership with Development, Technical Design, and Fabric teams to ensure high-quality product execution.
- The candidate should apply strong knowledge of performance-led fabrics, trims, and raw materials to develop purposeful and well-considered products.
- The candidate will partner with Design leadership to research, develop, and introduce exclusive materials, trims, and finishes that elevate the product assortment.
- The candidate will contribute to colour and graphic stories informed by sport, culture, and modern lifestyles, aligned with seasonal direction.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring each product reflects lululemon’s aesthetic codes, design integrity, and construction standards while thoughtfully challenging conventions where appropriate.
- The candidate must support and mentor junior designers, fostering technical confidence, curiosity, and collaboration.
- The candidate must stay informed on global fashion, activewear, culture, and sustainability, applying insight selectively rather than trend chasing.
- The candidate must champion innovation in fabric development, modern construction techniques, and responsible material choices.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have 8+ years of professional design experience.
- The candidate must present a strong portfolio showcasing women’s apparel across multiple categories, balancing elevated lifestyle design with versatile, functional separates.
- The candidate must demonstrate deep expertise in fabrics, draping, trims, fit, and garment construction.
- The candidate must be skilled in hand sketching, CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- The candidate must have experience working with global development calendars and overseas manufacturing partners.
- The candidate must have proven ability to mentor junior designers and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- The candidate must have clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting design work.
- The candidate must demonstrate a thoughtful approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion in both design practice and team culture.
- The candidate should bring strong experience in womenswear design, supported by a clear design perspective and disciplined execution of craft.
- The successful candidate should demonstrate comfort in designing across Athletic, Performance, and Lifestyle categories while maintaining design integrity through adaptable thinking.
- The candidate will be confident collaborating cross-functionally and communicating design intent with clarity and conviction.
