Job Description

  • The candidate will be in charge of providing individuals and their families with safety and health education.
  • The candidate will be in charge of administering medication as well as observing and documenting therapeutic effects.
  • The candidate will be required to take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensure infection control, monitor nutritional intake and conduct specimen collection
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing nursing services to patients within the scope of practise based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
  • The candidate will be in charge of monitoring patients’ progress, evaluating the efficacy of nursing interventions, and consulting with appropriate members of the healthcare team.
  • The candidate will be required to perform routine vital sign checks on patients.
  • The candidate will be required to assist doctors and registered nurses.
  • The candidate will be expected to communicate with patients’ families.
  • The candidate will be required to accurately record a patient’s medical history.
  • The candidate will be required to take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate, among other things.
  • The candidate will be expected to observe patients undergoing treatment in order to identify progress, side effects of medications, and so on.
  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients’ conditions, including fluid intake and output, as well as composing patient charts.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist ailing patients with daily activities such as eating, bathing, and so on.
  • The candidate will be expected to administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas, and other similar procedures, as well as clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
  • When necessary, the candidate will be expected to provide emotional and psychological support.
  • The candidate must be able to transfer patients from wheelchairs, beds, and gurneys.
  • The candidate will be required to administer and read TB tests, as well as perform routine immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and visual acuity testing.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep an adequate inventory of examination room supplies and to prepare exam rooms at the start and end of the day, as well as between each patient contact.
  • The candidate will be required to perform a variety of office duties such as answering phones, taking messages, and performing triage within the scope of licenced practical nursing practise in an accurate and timely manner.
  • The candidate will be required to communicate openly and effectively with patients and families, as well as demonstrate compassion and friendly behaviour.
