Job Description
- The General Labourer position requires outdoor maintenance work which supports grounds upkeep for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
- The job requires outdoor work and physical activities to maintain both facilities and outdoor areas.

Responsibilities
- The worker needs to perform grounds maintenance tasks which include lawn care snow removal work and both planting and pruning activities.
- Operate hand held power tools together with basic equipment according to safety procedures.
- Lift and move objects together with materials and equipment in a safe manner.
- Follow directions while completing multiple tasks which require completion of particular steps.
- Work outside under different weather conditions while using necessary protective clothing.
- Perform extra duties related to grounds maintenance and maintenance work which they receive through assignment.
Requirements
- There is practical experience in doing ground maintenance jobs that involve physical work including lawns, snow, tree/flower planting/pruning etc.
- Capable of working with hand-held machinery both power tools and small tools i.e. impact drills, whipper snippers, riding lawn mowers (garden tractors/skid-steers too).
- Ability to use basic computer software such as email, internet and MS Word.
- Has an understanding of all safety policies and procedures for working safely with all materials and tools used for general labour duties.
- Ability to safely lift/move any material and able to follow multi-step instructions with accuracy.
- Good English communication ability.
- Good oral and written communication skills, works well with a team.
- Dependable, action-oriented, and can display initiative, good judgment, integrity, and respect in a workplace.
