Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for researching and recommending policies and practices that prevent losses and enhance the City’s ability to recover costs associated with the adverse actions, errors, or negligence of others.
- The candidate will be responsible for investigating events that result in financial loss to the City, determining recovery options, and taking action to secure financial recovery, including collecting relevant data and evidence.
- The candidate will be responsible for coordinating litigation, subrogation, and other legal processes involved in the recovery of losses.
- The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external parties during emergency events to enhance future recovery.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting departmental programs, including corporate business continuity, enterprise risk management, security systems, and loss prevention.
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting with claims management, self-insured losses, and damage to civic property.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting project managers and departments in the recovery and resolution of project deficiencies, contractual non-performance, development deficiencies, and damage to civil infrastructure.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing relevant information for performance measurement reporting.
- The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks.
- The candidate will be required to work with City staff, participate in committees, and conduct site visits to ensure information and findings are presented in accordance with corporate needs and context.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, or a related field.
- The candidate must have relevant experience.
- The candidate must hold a valid BC Driver’s License – Class 5.
- The candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- The candidate should possess a strong commitment to service excellence.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong teamwork skills.
