Job Description
- The candidate will lead the integration of departmental records into the corporate records management system.
- The candidate will help ensure compliance with records retention requirements and applicable regulations.
- The candidate will review departmental needs and recommend records classifications, retention schedules, and security access groups.
- The candidate will run and analyze reports related to records security, access, and retention status.
- The candidate will advise departments on records management procedures and the use of the electronic records management system.
- The candidate will support the transfer of records to archives.
- The candidate will create training materials, user guides, and manuals to support records management practices.
- The candidate will deliver training sessions to staff across departments.
- The candidate will participate in records management projects and support the development and implementation of updated policies and procedures.
- The candidate will manage records at the records centre and archives throughout their lifecycle.
- The candidate will locate and prepare documents for release under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have completed Grade 12 supplemented by a certificate in records management and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 Driverโs Licence issued in British Columbia.
- The candidate must demonstrate considerable knowledge of the corporate records classification system and related information management principles and procedures.
- The candidate must demonstrate considerable knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the work.
- The candidate must demonstrate considerable knowledge of the software applications used in the work.
- The candidate must demonstrate considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, arithmetic, and modern office practices and procedures.
- The candidate must demonstrate sound knowledge of corporate departmental functions relevant to the work performed.
- The candidate must demonstrate some knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- The candidate must be able to coordinate the integration of records into the corporate records management system and recommend appropriate classification, retention schedules, and security groups.
- The candidate must be able to advise departments on records management procedures, develop training materials, and deliver training sessions.
- The candidate must be able to search records efficiently to locate required information.
- The candidate must be able to prepare, maintain, and control a variety of work-related records.
- The candidate must be able to work under minimal supervision.
- The candidate with previous public body experience is preferred.
- The candidate with Records Management Certification is preferred.
