Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on printing methods by assessing and compiling client requirements, developing specifications such as paper quality, quantity, size, and type, and determining the most effective, efficient, and economical service delivery solution.
- The candidate will be responsible for tendering, evaluating, and awarding print orders through internal contracts, Invitations to Quote (ITQ), the internal Rotational Bidding System, and the BC Bid system to ensure a fair, accurate, and timely tendering process.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing and negotiating internal contracts, monitoring supplier performance, and authorizing payments to suppliers.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing technical specifications to private sector commercial printers.
- The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring print orders between clients and vendors and reconciling invoices for completeness and compliance with agreements.
- The candidate will be responsible for working closely with Ministry project managers to ensure government programs receive the printed documentation and print-related materials required to support operations.
- The candidate will be responsible for resolving issues, concerns, and complaints from clients and service providers related to service satisfaction, printing quality, timeliness of services, and billing matters, including negotiating discounts or reprints for unsatisfactory printing jobs.
- The candidate will exercise expense authority for payment approvals on print orders up to and including $75,000.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have education and training related to business, technology, publishing, and/or print procurement management.
- The candidate may be considered if they have an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- The candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience and/or education in printing and publishing, including digital, offset, and web press printing.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience using SAP, JIRA/Kanban Information System, the Rotational Bid System, or similar ERP database systems.
- Preference may be given to applicants with procurement and contract management experience.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
