Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting with and leading interments while ensuring cemetery services are completed safely and efficiently.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining lawns, shrubs, flower beds, and pathways to ensure the cemetery grounds remain well maintained.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of cemetery washrooms and buildings.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of grounds maintenance tasks, including manual gardening activities.
- The candidate will be responsible for operating equipment of various sizes and complexity, including backhoes, ride-on and push mowers, leaf blowers, line trimmers, and related hand and power tools.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have completed some high school and possess some related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
- The candidate must possess a valid Driverโs Licence for the Province of BC.
Additional information
Security and safety
- The candidate must undergo and submit an acceptable police information check.
Work Conditions
- The candidate will work in an auxiliary position for up to 32 hours per week throughout the year, with shift availability determined by operational demands.
- The candidate will support the work of two full-time cemetery employees by providing additional assistance and maintaining ongoing and occasional shift availability seven days per week.
