Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to answer and triage member phone calls and direct members to product locations.
- Candidates are required to fill prescriptions by retrieving stock bottles, counting medications, and labelling under the pharmacist’s supervision.
- They’re also required to follow safety and security procedures at all times while completing these duties.
- Candidates are appointed to alert the pharmacist when necessary such as in cases of drug interactions or patient concerns.
- They’re appointed to comply with provincial regulations regarding the role of the pharmacy student and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Candidates are also appointed to assist patients at the counter, retrieve prescriptions and process register transactions as per the provided procedures. Provides prompt and courteous patient service.
- They’re also appointed to identify and recruit patients eligible for the medication review program and assist the pharmacist in performing medication review services.
- Candidates are appointed to help pharmacy staff stock drugs, supplies and OTC merchandise.
- They’re required to work with the pharmacist to develop and implement plans to recruit and successfully run Costco Pharmacy’s Health Promotion clinics.
- Candidates are also appointed to work with pharmacy staff to keep the pharmacy clean and well-organized.
- Candidates are required to assist in other areas as necessary and under the direction of the pharmacist.
Job requirement
- Candidates must be enrolled in an approved pharmacy program to be eligible for this post.
- They must be registered with the respective College as a pharmacy student to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have community pharmacy experience and proficiency to be eligible for this post.
- They must have a Kroll pharmacy software system to be eligible for this post.
- They must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work well in a team.
Work setting
- They must have excellent communication and member service skills to be eligible for this post.
