Lifeguard/Instructor 1 

The City of Regina is inviting all the candidates to show their interest in the post of Lifeguard/Instructor 1. They’re looking for candidates who can fulfill all the requirements of the post. Working at this post they’re responsible lifeguards for instructional duties at any City of Regina aquatic facilities. Registration for this post has started and it will end soon.

Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are required to participate in mandatory sessional staff training and development programs.
  • They’re also required at this post to assume responsibility for individual lesson plans, class attendance, class evaluations, progress cards, and test sheets working at this post. 
  • Candidates for this post are required to enforce swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by the City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act.
  • They’re also appointed at this post to assist in cleaning and disinfecting duties working at this post. 
  • They’re also appointed at this post to supervise the activities of the patrons using the facility, by established policies and procedures.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have dedicated experience in dealing with clients at aquatic facilities providing lifeguarding and recognized Lifesaving Swim for Life to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must have a minimum of Grade 10 to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must acquire dedicated knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques employed in water safety, lifeguarding and instruction to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must acquire dedicated knowledge of the standard principles and practices of first aid to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must have the ability to implement oral and written instructions to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must acquire the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with patrons and fellow employees to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must have the ability to demonstrate an amiable and outgoing personality.

Work setting 

  • Candidates for this post must have Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor Certification to get preferred for this post.
