Gnome of My Own, located in Calgary, AB T3E 6V1. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Landscape worker. We are in search of a self-disciplined individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. The selected applicant will be required to join and take on their responsibilities at the earliest. The open positions are for Permanent employment or full-time jobs. The timings of shifts may be Morning, Day and 08:00 to 16:00.

Job Description

• The candidate must assist with landscape construction.
• The candidate must tie and secure plants.
• The candidate must weed, prune, and trim trees and plants.
• The candidate must cut the grass.
• The candidate must rake and collect trash.
• The candidate must cart and spread topsoil and other materials.
• The candidate must lay sod or seed.
• The candidate must plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs.
• The candidate must apply fertilizers.
• The candidate will be responsible for watering and maintaining plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
• The candidate must operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate should be dependable.
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate must be punctual.
• The candidate must be hardworking.

Work site environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp, cold/refrigerated, dusty, and hot environments.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work setting

• The candidate should work in the landscape maintenance division, which is the art and profession of keeping a landscape healthy, clean, safe, and attractive, usually in a garden, yard, park, institutional setting, or estate.
• The candidate should work in a private residence, office, or work area only open to the public in the ordinary course of business if by individual invitation.

• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must be willing to walk for long periods of time.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Own tools/equipment

• The candidate must have steel-toed safety boots.
