Job Description

  • Investment Advisor is a full time wealth management position with Royal Bank of Canada.
  • The role is part of the Wealth Management platform.
  • The position helps clients with investment planning and wealth management services.
  • The role follows a commission based pay structure with a starting base salary.
  • The position allows advisors to build and manage their own client business with company support.
  • The routine work week is 37.5 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Build a client base of individuals and families and business owners.
  • Create investment portfolios and wealth plans.
  • Provide financial planning and investment advice based on your client’s goals.
  • Build long term relationships through trusted client service.
  • Work with banking and insurance teams to support clients.
  • Manage complex financial needs using available wealth management resources.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of work background in outbound sales is required.
  • Can work with a 100 percent commission based pay structure.
  • Complete the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) and the Retail Securities Exam (RSE) before the start date.
  • Strong interest in financial planning and portfolio management is required.
  • Can work with building strong client relationships with different types of clients.
  • Work background in direct marketing, financial services, high value sales or business development is preferred.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is preferred.
