Food Service Supervisor

Okanagan Good Food Inc.  based in Gellatly, BC, is looking for candidates for the position of Food Service Supervisor with 4 vacancies. The ones chosen to be employed will be required to start work as soon as possible. Okanagan Good Food Inc. has an approved Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to hire a foreign worker to fill labour or skills shortages on a temporary basis. The vacancies refer to that of permanent employment and a full time job. The shift will extend from early morning to morning to day to evening and night, the candidate may also be required to work in the weekend, flexible hours may also be available.

Job description

  • The candidate will be required to supervise staff who prepare and portion food.
  • The candidate will be required to co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
  • The candidate will be required to supervise assembly of trays.
  • The candidate will be required to check assembly of trays.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare and submit reports.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain records of stock and repairs.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain records of sales and wastage.
  • The candidate will be required to establish work schedules.
  • The candidate will be required to estimate and order ingredients and supplies.
  • The candidate will be required to ensure food service.
  • The candidate will be required to ensure quality control.
  • The candidate will be required to address customers’ complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate will be required to train staff in job duties.
  • The candidate will be required to train workers in sanitation and safety procedures.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare budget and cost estimates.
  • The candidate will be required to establish methods to meet work schedules.
  • The candidate will be required to hire food service staff.
  • The candidate will be required to supervise food service counter attendants.
  • The candidate will be required to supervise food preparers.
  • The candidate will be required to supervise Kitchen and food service helpers.
  • The candidate will be required to supervise Food and beverage servers.

  • The work duty is on-site customer service.
  • The work site environment is noisy with a lot of odors and is hot.
  • The candidate will be required to have the ability to supervise around 5 to 10 people.
  • The candidate will be required to have the ability to supervise staff in various areas of responsibility.
  • The candidate will be required to work in a Restaurant or a Food service establishment.
  • The candidate may be required to work in a Fast food outlet or concession.

Requirements

  • The candidate should have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • The candidate should have equivalent experience in the concerned field.
  • The candidate should have an experience of at least 3 years to less than 5 years.
  • The candidate should be able to handle weight.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should be a team player.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should show flexibility.
  • The candidate should be focused on the client.
