Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to carry out repair and maintenance work for farm machinery and equipment if and when required.
  • The candidate should be able to perform general farm duties.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep track of the inventory of stored materials.
  • The candidate will be required to co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • The candidate will be required to supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • The candidate will be required to ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • The candidate would be responsible for establishing work schedules and procedures
  • The candidate should have knowledge and capability to operate farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for shipping documentation as well as the tracking and tracing of goods in transit.
  • The candidate should be responsible in managing overall operations of farm.
  • The candidate should ensure farm activities comply with government regulations and health and safety standards
  • The candidate should ensure uninterrupted water supply to the farm.
  • The candidate should be responsible in maintaining financial and production records of the farm.
  • The candidate will be expected to analyse current operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and make recommendations for improvements.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing planting and harvesting plans and schedules, as well as ensuring that staff understands expectations.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep work records and logs.
  • The candidate would be responsible for paying and receiving payments for goods
  • The candidate will be required to ensure that deadlines are met for activities such as seeding and harvesting
  • The candidate would be responsible for monitoring staff rosters, hours, performance and resolving any grievances
  • The candidate would be responsible for overseeing the work of farming units and suggests improvements and changes
  • The candidate should be responsible in keeping daily progress reports of the farm.
  • The candidate will be required to ensure that seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
  • The candidate will be expected to collect and prepare manure, liquid manure, soil, hay, silage, and grain samples for laboratory analysis and reporting.
  • The candidate will be in charge of installing, maintaining, and regularly monitoring the irrigation system.
  • The candidate will be responsible for setting priorities, directing and coordinating crop group activities and general services, as well as individuals working in the garage.
  • The candidate will be in charge of budgeting for cropping operations, tractor maintenance, and agricultural equipment.
  • The candidate will be in charge of registering, producing, and recording field yields as well as the inputs applied to the fields.
  • The candidate will be in charge of providing instructions on workplace safety and ensures that safe work practises are followed. Fill out accident or injury reports.
  • The candidate should examine and inspect containers, packaging material, and product to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep track of quality control and production records.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all employees follow health and safety regulations.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise and oversee crop-growing operations.
  • The candidate must maintain knowledge of pests and diseases, as well as an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them.
