Job Description

  • The candidate must collaborate with the Facilities Supervisor to complete scheduled and preventative maintenance activities.
  • The candidate will be responsible for utilizing the computerized maintenance management system to manage equipment inventory and schedule maintenance.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing monthly maintenance and safety inspections while providing an immediate response to emergency situations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assembling and installing equipment, including drive motors, gearboxes, belts, gravity conveyors, platforms, and other material handling equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing daily inspections and cleanup of the building perimeter and grounds while completing general repairs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for responding promptly to reports of equipment issues to minimize operational downtime and reduce the impact on business operations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for completing assigned technical training, personal development activities, and team-building exercises.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing, general mechanical trade, or general contracting.
  • The candidate must be skilled in using power tools, ground maintenance equipment, electrical systems, masonry, plumbing, carpentry, paints, solvents, adhesives, and operating PIT equipment.
  • The candidate must be able to meet attendance requirements.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook and possess basic computer skills.
  • The candidate must maintain a safe work environment.
  • The candidate must be flexible and adaptable to a work schedule that may include working nights, required holidays, some weekends, occasional after-hours requirements, and overtime.
  • The candidate must be available to work any shift, with adjusted working hours during peak seasons, and complete a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • The candidate must be able to understand, speak, and read English proficiently to follow safety procedures, workplace policies, training, and work instructions. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Additional information

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate must work the 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM shift in Brampton on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  • The candidate must work the 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM shift in Mississauga from Monday to Friday.
  • The candidate must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
