Job Description
- The candidate must operate buses, school buses, or streetcars to transport passengers.
- The candidate must report delays, mechanical problems, and accidents.
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate will be responsible for directing passengers during emergency evacuation procedures.
- The candidate must deal with the public.
- The candidate must complete logbooks and reports.
- The candidate must deal with difficult passengers and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
- The candidate must communicate with passengers, dispatchers, and other drivers using two-way radio systems.
- The candidate must ensure children’s safety when boarding and leaving the bus, and while crossing the street when the bus is stopped.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all vehicle aspects.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification and a Driver’s Licence (Class 2, B or C).
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- The candidate should be client-focused.
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
- The candidate should be organized and flexible.
- The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
- The candidate should be reliable.

Experience and specialization
Type of experience
The candidate must have experience as an intercity bus driver, a tour and charter bus driver, and in operating buses.

- The candidate must have transportation and travel experience at the local, regional, national, and provincial/territorial levels.

- The candidate must undergo a criminal record check, a driving record check (abstract), a drug test, and a medical exam.
