Job Description
- Director, Senior Technical Lead will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of data and platform engineering solutions.
- Responsible for mentoring the team of engineers and DBAs in the successful implementation of cloud and data solutions.
- Working with partners throughout the process of defining their cloud and data solution requirements.
- Design, build, and implement data pipeline solutions through various cloud platforms.
- Providing support to Agile development teams in delivering scalable and reliable data products.
Responsibilities
- Introduce additional technical capabilities into cloud solutions that support the data product.
- Support data management and data and AI projects and initiatives.
- Collaborating with fellow team members on similar tasks across engineering and business teams.
- Make bonds with fellow authorities to collect requirements needed for analytics development.
- Assist with the horizontal scale and availability of data platform operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is computer science or similar fields.
- The individual possesses a thorough technical knowledge base along with a vast amount of practical experience with coding, platform engineering and data engineering.
- They possess an abundance of knowledge regarding the management of databases, modelling, and building a scalable architecture of data.
- This individual has experience with Teradata, IBM DB2, Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Airflow, Kafka, and DataStage.
- The applicant possesses a great amount of knowledge about the Royal Bank of Canada systems and practices.
- The candidate should also be familiar with Hybrid Cloud Environments(AWS, Azure) and the various types of Cloud platforms.
- Should have strong communication, leadership and presentation skills in presenting technical solutions to senior level stakeholders.
