Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for designing and managing the global merchandising strategy for the bags category.
  • The candidate will be responsible for executing line plans that deliver design vision while achieving sales, gross margin, and productivity goals across all channels.
  • The candidate will be responsible for executing initiatives that support omni-channel product assortment delivery and digital growth strategies.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle and go-to-market process for the bags category through cross-functional collaboration.
  • The candidate will be responsible for leading the seasonal line planning process and style count in partnership with Design, Development, and Planning teams.
  • The candidate will be responsible for driving pricing architecture in collaboration with Directors of Merchandising and Design to ensure consistency across the brand.
  • The candidate will be responsible for collaborating closely with other Directors of Merchandising on key Go-to-Market processes and tasks.
  • The candidate will be responsible for representing accessories as the lead in Go-to-Market processes, calendars, and task execution, while ensuring awareness of critical deadlines and driving process improvements.
  • The candidate will be responsible for collaborating closely with international buying teams to ensure regional needs are incorporated into the global line plan and roadmap.
  • The candidate will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams outside of Product to ensure the successful delivery of the design vision to guests.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing the Design team with strategic insights at key internal milestones and identifying opportunities for product assortment expansion and business growth.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must possess 10 or more years of experience in a merchant or buyer role, including a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • The candidate must possess vertical retail experience, while omni-channel experience will be considered highly desirable.
  • The candidate must demonstrate mastery of retail mathematics and Open to Buy processes.
  • The candidate must demonstrate proven ability to work collaboratively with and lead cross-functional teams.
  • The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a self-starter approach to work, with the drive to consistently meet and exceed objectives while taking on additional responsibilities.
  • The candidate must demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking, including the ability to make informed decisions and take calculated risks.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a strong focus on creating an extraordinary guest experience, supported by excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The candidate must possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
  • The candidate must demonstrate willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work on the retail floor as required.
