Job Description

  • The candidate must assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must go shopping for food and household supplies.
  • The candidate must travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties.
  • The candidate must wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must discipline children using the methods specified by the parents.
  • The candidate will be responsible for instructing children in personal hygiene and social development.
  • The candidate must maintain records of daily activities and health information for the children.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home.
  • The candidate will be responsible for organizing activities for children, such as games and outings.
  • The candidate must prepare and serve healthy meals.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and caring for children.
  • The candidate will be responsible for transporting children to and from school and appointments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the emotional well-being of children.
  • The candidate will be responsible for helping children with their homework.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cooking.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • The ability to communicate in Swahili will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate must have Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification, a First Aid Certificate, and have passed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) proficiency test.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 30 lbs (13.5 kg).
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting independently and taking initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent time management skills.
  • The candidate must have patience.
  • The candidate must be honest.
