Job Description
- The candidate must prepare reports or case histories.
- The candidate must perform administrative and office activities.
- The candidate must implement life skills workshops.
- The candidate must assess clients’ relevant skill strengths and development needs.
- The candidate must conduct follow-up assessments.
- The candidate must perform housekeeping activities.
- The candidate must perform food preparation duties.
- The candidate must resolve conflict situations.
- The candidate must supervise the activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses.
- The candidate must implement behaviour management programs.
- The candidate must conduct individual and group counselling sessions.
- The candidate must liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients.
- The candidate must assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs.
- The candidate must accompany clients to appointments and social outings.
- The candidate must offer mentoring.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
- The candidate must supervise 1 to 2 people.
- The candidate must hold a Behaviour Management Certification, an Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) Course Certificate, a Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, a Cultural Awareness Training Certificate, a Medication Administration Certificate, and First Aid and CPR certifications.
- The candidate should be accurate.
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
- The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
- The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
- The candidate should be client focused.
