Job Description
- The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
- The candidate must prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, using measuring tools.
- The candidate must be able to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- The candidate must build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- The candidate must fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and renovating residential and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
Work setting
- The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeplejacking, and wall and floor work.
- The candidate must be able to work in multiple locations to support employees stationed at various worksites.
- The candidate must work in renovation, focusing on improving broken, damaged, or outdated structures.
