Job Description
- The candidate must interpret welding process specifications.
- The candidate must be able to operate manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated welding equipment.
- The candidate must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
- The candidate must examine welds to ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
- The candidate must be able to operate either manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- The candidate must be able to use oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) (AOC).
- The candidate must determine the weldability of materials.
- The candidate must be able to operate previously set-up welding machines in order to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English or French languages.
- The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
Work site environment
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
- The candidate must be able to work at heights.
- The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
- The candidate must be able to work in hot conditions.
- The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
- The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Type of materials
- Materials include aluminium alloys, stainless steel and steel, iron, and heavy metals.
Welding techniques
- Welding techniques include Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Plasma arc welding (PAW), Electrogas, Electroslag, Fusion welds, Orbital, Tubular, Multipass, Keyhole, Brazing and soldering, Arc spot, and Boilers.
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have experience using arc welding machine, brazing machine, butt or seam resistance welding machine, gas welding machine, and soldering machine.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about custom fabrication, truck repair, machinery and equipment repair, large diameter pipelines, structural construction, factory assembly, cast iron and other metals, ornamental work and fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings.

- The candidate must have their own vehicle.
- The candidate must be willing to travel.
