Job Description 

  • Candidates appointed at this post to collaborate with other members of the Environment Section to develop education and outreach programs to promote awareness and participation.
  • They’re also accountable at this post for coordinating and supporting the City’s Internal Waste Diversion Working Group and creating and managing project controls such as data gathering, management and analytical processes working at this post.
  • People who apply for this post are required to gather information for key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Candidates are appointed to monitor, evaluate and report program effectiveness working at this post.
  • Candidates are also required to complete waste audits and assessments to measure results for waste diversion at various facilities, parks and roadside recycling containers working at this post.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain a post-secondary degree from a recognized university or college in environmental studies, engineering, or related field to be eligible for this post.
  • People must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in waste management programs, ideally with experience in municipal solid waste management, waste reduction, recycling, and composting, to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates must attain knowledge of solid waste audit procedures and waste reduction work plans in compliance with government regulations to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants must know relevant Federal, Provincial and Regional environmental laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines, including local, regional, national and environmental, to be eligible for this post.

Work setting 

  • They’re accountable for researching and preparing reports, correspondence, and oral presentations for prospective community partners, client groups, and the internal management team working at this post.
