Job Description

  • A permanent, full-time underwriting role focused on assessing risk within the Small Group portfolio.
  • Supports underwriting analysis and risk evaluation for Small Group and Small Case ASO business.
  • Offers exposure to long-term career growth and progression within underwriting.
  • Based in Winnipeg with a workplace model aligned to Canada Life’s flexible, modern work practices

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and authorize Small Group risk and policies.
  • Study and dissect new and modified group policies.
  • Calculate the renewal rates for ASO, Health, and LTD cases.
  • Serve as a technical consultant for both the field and head office personnel.
  • Mediating risk solutions and facilitating stakeholder collaboration.
  • Generate management reports by employing Excel and Access tools

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in actuarial science, finance, commerce, or CEBS (or in progress).
  • Previous underwriting exposure.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Customer-oriented and team-player type.
  • Familiarity with Group Division products and PAS system is an asset.
  • Desire to attain GBA or CEBS certification.
  • Ability to obtain Reliability Status Security Clearance (Canada Life)
