Job Description
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all vehicle aspects.
- The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
- The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
- The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
- The candidate must have a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- The candidate should be organized and flexible.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate must be hardworking.

- The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
Experience and specialization
Documentation knowledge
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbooks, and inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip).
Type of trucking and equipment
- The candidate must have experience in operating dump trucks, flatbed trucks, and straight trucks (4,600 kg+ or 10,000 lbs+ with three or more axles).
Communication systems experience
- The candidate must have experience using Citizens Band (CB) radio and operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
Transportation/travel experience
- The candidate must have travel experience at the national, provincial/territorial, regional, and local levels.
- The candidate must have short-haul travel experience.
