Job Description
- The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all vehicle aspects.
- The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
- The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- The candidate must handle and transport dangerous goods.
- The candidate must follow emergency and safety procedures.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A), a Driver’s License (Class 3 or D), a Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate, a Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- The candidate should be organized and flexible.
- The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate must have patience.

- The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Documentation knowledge
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip) and maintenance and repair reports.

- The candidate must undergo a driver’s validity licence check and a driving record check (abstract).
Transportation/travel information
- The candidate must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
