Job Description
Banking & Payment Operations:
- The candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing key treasury payment processes, including wire transfers and banking information changes, to ensure accurate and efficient payment operations.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring standards, policies, and procedures related to banking and payment processes.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and banking rules.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation required to meet legal and regulatory standards.
Banking Strategy & Relationship Management:
- The candidate will be responsible for developing and communicating banking strategies that align with BC Hydro’s business goals and financial objectives.
- The candidate will be responsible for negotiating and managing banking arrangements to meet business needs while optimizing service quality and cost efficiency.
- The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders.
Project Leadership & Strategic Support:
- The candidate will be responsible for leading and managing banking-related projects.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting recommendations related to banking strategies, projects, and operational changes.
- The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with leadership to support and influence decisions related to banking, payments, and liability management.
Cash & Liability Management:
- The candidate will be responsible for providing corporate treasury services across areas including banking, cash management, liability management, and risk management.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing, supporting, and managing cash and liability forecasting and reporting activities.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing and responding to reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- The candidate will stay current on market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to the role.
- The candidate will identify opportunities to improve existing processes and controls.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- The candidate with a CFA or CPA designation, or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification, will be preferred.
- The candidate must have a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in treasury operations, banking, and/or corporate finance.
- The candidate will be considered if they possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- The candidate must have strong knowledge of banking and payment best practices, controls, systems, and regulatory requirements.
- The candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
- The candidate must have experience with strategic financial planning and financial forecasting tools.
- The candidate must possess strong analytical skills, including experience with financial modeling and financial analysis.
- The candidate must have high proficiency in MS Office applications, with experience using Bloomberg and treasury systems considered an asset.
- The candidate must have experience developing, implementing, and maintaining risk management policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- The candidate must have knowledge of financial products and instruments, including banking and payment products, debt instruments, and derivatives such as market-to-market valuations.
- The candidate must have experience managing corporate banking relationships, processes, and transactions.
- The candidate must have strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate initiative.
- The candidate must have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing accurate work.

Work conditions
- The candidate will be required to work under a hybrid work model, which includes a combination of remote work and in-office attendance. The role currently requires a minimum of two days per week in the office, with additional office attendance as needed based on operational requirements.
