Lead Engineer, TD Securities – Java, Spark, Hadoop is a full-time hybrid role with TD Securities where you’ll be leading engineering teams to build and maintain scalable, high-performance trading and Profit & Loss (PnL) reporting platforms. It’s a role that’s probably best for seasoned software engineering leaders who can work through gnarly technical problems, while also mentoring others, and who have real experience across Java , Spark, Hadoop , and distributed systems.

In this role, you’ll drive software development efforts, do architecture reviews plus keep an eye on code quality, handle production problems when they show up , then also optimize older legacy applications. You’ll push automation and innovation through modern engineering practices, you know, the usual “make it better” stuff.

Job Description

  • The focus here is leading the design, development, and tuning of scalable PnL reporting platforms that support Risk Analysts, Traders, and Senior Executives. You will manage engineering teams, boost system performance, and conduct code.
  • You will still do the actual coding and reviews too, just with the bigger-picture responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable PnL reporting platforms.
  • Review application architecture and run code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and put in place long-term fixes.
  • Improve system performance and optimize legacy applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • 5+ years managing engineering teams.
  • 8+ years of Java/JEE development experience.
