Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to coordinate the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System to create and manage work requests.
- They’re also appointed for routine maintenance and inspection activities on operational equipment and auditing daily operations activities to ensure efficient operations that meet applicable Provincial Acts and Regulations and City standards to efficiently operate.
Job requirement
- They must attain a 3-year Community College Diploma in Environmental Technology or a suitable equivalent combination of education and experience to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain a Minimum of 5 years’ progressively more responsible experience related to the maintenance of municipal water distribution systems.
- Candidates must attain 7 years in a municipal public works department to be eligible for this post.
- They must be able to maintain a valid Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Water Distribution Level 2 Operator License.
- Candidates must be certified engineering technologists as issued by the Ontario Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists is preferred for this post.
- They must attain the ability to self-manage, and identify issues, challenges, and opportunities and propose solutions.
- Candidates must attain the ability to read engineering drawings and knowledge of specifications.
- They must attain the ability to deal courteously and effectively with the Public, Staff, Consultants, and Industry.
Work setting
- Candidates must attain the ability to work in water infrastructure where movement may be restricted on an occasional basis.
