Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to create, alter, or re-style fur garments and accessories.
  • The candidate will be expected to create made-to-measure garments in accordance with customer and manufacturing specifications.
  • The candidate will be required to mark, cut, and sew fabric.
  • The candidate will be required to design patterns to fit measurements.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fitting, altering, repairing, and making made-to-measure clothing to customers’ and clothing manufacturers’ specifications and fit, as well as applying garment design, construction, and styling principles.
  • The candidate will be required to lay out, cut, sew, and press materials to make hats.
  • The candidate must be able to operate sewing machines and sew by hand.
  • The candidate will be required to select and modify commercial patterns to meet the specifications and fit requirements of customers and clothing manufacturers.
  • The candidate must estimate the cost of making a garment based on factors such as time and material requirements.
  • The candidate must interpret designs, sketches, and samples in order to determine pattern specifications.
  • The candidate will be required to lubricate, clean, or make minor repairs to machine parts in order to keep the machine operational.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep sewing machines and other equipment in good working order.
