Job Description

  • A technical role focused on managing and supporting physical security systems across facilities
  • Full time position with a 35-hour workweek and fully on-site presence.
  • Involves handling security technologies like video systems, access control, and integrated solutions.
  • Includes supporting system maintenance and resolving technical issues
  • Works in a fast paced environment with flexibility for shifts and weekends and on call duties
  • Part of a diverse and inclusive team supporting critical infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • The team is responsible for maintaining and installing and enhancing electronic physical security systems and building systems.
  • The team provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support while handling service requests.
  • The team performs preventive maintenance work while resolving urgent technical problems.
  • Support implementation, testing, and documentation of security systems
  • Work with partners like the Senate and security services on daily operations and projects
  • Follow standards and contribute to improving system processes
  • Handle system support, upgrades, and maintenance outside regular hours when needed

Requirements

  • The required qualifications for this position need either a post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering
  • Technician or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • The candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience which includes both enterprise security system support and troubleshooting tasks.
  • The candidate has performed maintenance work on access control systems together with video systems and intrusion detection systems.
  • The candidate needs at least 2 years of experience working with platforms such as Genetec and Milestone and Lenel and other similar systems.
  • The individual demonstrates proficiency in understanding communication protocols which include OSDP and RS485 and ONVIF and SIP.
  • The individual possesses the skill to comprehend technical drawings while developing system diagrams.
  • The candidate has worked on installation projects while their role required them to work with various teams. The candidate has experience in handling service requests while creating and maintaining thorough documentation.
  • The candidate possesses experience in working with security systems and sensors that operate through IoT technology.
  • Experience training or guiding non-technical users is an asset
  • Experience handling spare parts and RMA processes is an asset
  • Knowledge of electronics and equipment setup practices is an asset
  • Certifications or training in security systems is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (IP addressing, routers, switches) is an asset
