Job description

  • Supervise the full procurement process for Toronto Public Health
  • Lead and support purchasing staff
  • Prepare and distribute purchasing and contract documents
  • Review specifications and oversee RFQ processes
  • Provide guidance on SAP and Ariba
  • Monitor contract spending and vendor compliance
  • Develop procurement training materials and lead training sessions
  • Maintain purchasing reports, statistics and service level agreements
  • Support purchasing policy implementation and process improvements
  • Work with vendors, divisions and management to resolve procurement issues

Job requirements

  • Candidates for this position need to have completed post-secondary education in business accounting economics purchasing supply chain management or any related field, or they can qualify through equivalent educational and professional experience.
  • Considerable use of procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, RPGS or S4/HANA
  • Background leading and training staff in a fast paced service environment
  • Strong knowledge of municipal purchasing regulations and procurement practices
  • Strong organizational, leadership and problem solving abilities
  • Certification in procurement or purchasing is considered an asset
