Job Description

Receiving, Storage, and Regulatory Compliance

  • The candidate will receive, verify, and process incoming materials in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • The candidate will be responsible for verifying deliveries against waybills, packing slips, and purchase records and documenting discrepancies or damage.
  • The candidate will be responsible for unloading shipments with material handling equipment and moving goods to assigned receiving or temporary storage locations.
  • The candidate will ensure all medical devices and products governed by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are handled, stored, quarantined, and recalled in accordance with Health Canada regulatory requirements and SOPs.
  • The candidate will label products and apply barcodes to ensure accurate stock identification and location assignment.
  • The candidate will complete inventory receipts in computerized inventory and warehouse management systems.
  • The candidate will be responsible for submitting processed documents to accounting and maintaining organized files for purchase orders and receiving records.
  • The candidate will place stock in assigned storage locations and confirm all inventory movements electronically.

Order Processing, Picking, and Packing

  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing customer requisitions and identifying suitable packaging requirements.
  • The candidate will be responsible for downloading, batching, and consolidating customer orders through warehouse and carousel management systems.
  • The candidate will locate, pick, and pack the correct products and quantities from designated storage locations.
  • The candidate will accurately record inventory removals, prepare packing slips, and ensure all shipping documentation is complete.
  • The candidate will be responsible for packing, sealing, and labelling shipments in accordance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Shipping and Distribution

  • The candidate will be responsible for moving completed orders to the shipping area and processing goods issue transactions in the business system.
  • The candidate will be responsible for determining the most effective shipping method by considering order priority, destination, shipment volume, customer requirements, and cost.
  • The candidate will prepare and complete shipping and carrier documentation, including documentation for WHMIS and Dangerous Goods shipments.
  • The candidate will sort shipments according to carrier and destination, stage them appropriately, and schedule pickup arrangements.

Returns, Recalls, and Adjustments

  • The candidate will process customer returns in accordance with SOPs, including the quarantine of medical devices and recalled products.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing returned products against supporting documentation and evaluating condition, damage, shortages, and eligibility for restocking.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing inventory adjustment records, processing credits or exchanges, and maintaining complete filing documentation.
  • The candidate will secure and manage products subject to recalls or regulatory holds as required.

Inventory Control and Audit Support

  • The candidate will investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and prepare corrective inventory adjustment documentation for approval.
  • The candidate will advise supervisors of inventory issues, including damage, expiry, mislocation, and quantity discrepancies.
  • The candidate will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, scheduled inventory counts, and maintaining associated records.
  • The candidate will maintain accurate inventory records in computerized systems.

Delivery and Customer Service

  • The candidate will safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans, cube vans, and 5 ton trucks, to deliver packaged products throughout the Lower Mainland.
  • The candidate will pick up goods from suppliers and deliver them to the Product Distribution Centre (PDC) or other designated locations.
  • The candidate will load vehicles efficiently using material handling equipment and follow documented delivery routes and manifests.
  • The candidate will deliver orders, obtain proof of delivery, and return completed documentation daily.
  • The candidate will assist with delivery prioritization in coordination with supervisors to meet operational and service requirements.
  • The candidate will maintain professional customer service, safe driving practices, and compliance with delivery SOPs at all times.
  • The candidate will be responsible for communicating delivery problems, customer feedback, and process improvement opportunities to supervisors.

General Warehouse Operations and Safety

  • The candidate will maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment.
  • The candidate will operate and perform basic user maintenance on material handling equipment, including Order Pickers, Forklifts, and Ride on Power Carts.
  • The candidate will replenish picking locations and reorganize inventory to maximize warehouse capacity and efficiency.
  • The candidate will handle, store, label, and ship WHMIS and Dangerous Goods in compliance with applicable procedures and documentation.
  • The candidate will assist with loading and unloading shipments as required.
  • The candidate will follow all safety, security, and operational SOPs and identify process improvement opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have completed secondary school graduation or possess an equivalent qualification.
  • The candidate must have experience working with rolling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers.
  • The candidate must have experience using an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system such as SAP or an equivalent platform.
  • The candidate must demonstrate experience using Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, at a beginner to intermediate level.
  • The candidate must have 1 year or more of experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience using RF scanning and voice pick technology and equipment for receiving, picking, or replenishment activities.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and handling medical devices, medical products, and pharmaceutical drugs in a logistics environment.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with work experience requiring compliance with Health Canada regulations specific to medical devices.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience using automated third-party shipping systems, including Loomis and Purolator.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in an automated, fast-paced, performance-oriented logistics and distribution organization.
  • The candidate must have or be capable of obtaining WHMIS certification.
  • The candidate must have or be capable of obtaining certification in material handling equipment operation.
  • The candidate will be required to hold or acquire a valid BC Driver’s Licence Class 5 or better, including Classes 1 to 4.
  • The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
